Prof Datuk Dr Muhammad Nur Bin Manuty

Prof. Dato' Dr. Muhammad Nur Manuty is one of ABIM's most influential former Presidents. He earned his MA and PhD degrees. from Temple University, United States of America (1978-87) in the field of Islamic thought and comparative religion and learned directly from the famous contemporary Islamic thinker (al-Marhum) Prof. Ismail Raji al-Faruqi and the famous philosopher Seyyed Hossein Nasr.

He has taught at UKM's Department of Arabic Studies and Islamic Civilization and served as a Madra Professor at UIA's Department of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion (1983-99).

Dr. Muhammad Nur currently holds the position of President of Darul Al-Hikmah College, an honorary fellow of the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) in East Asia and Southeast Asia, a member of the advisory board of the Malaysian Branch of the World Scholars Union and the Chairman of the Selangor University Foundation Board of Trustees (UNISEL).
